Life thus far

Well we've been back two weeks now and things are going well.

We've moved into our new home, and with it's roomy 10 x 12 sq. ft. of floor space we've already done quite a bit of entertaining. This week I (Nick) celebrated my birthday and we had a dozen of our local friends over to celebrate. I shared that my birthday wish was that we'd all grow closer to God in the next year. The party itself was a success due to Sarah's gift of hospitality. She made sure everyone had a good time and good food, complete with cake and jello (the Mexican version of cake and ice cream!).

This weekend we tried out our vacation home (our 2-person backpacking tent). This awesome wedding present from a couple of our awesome sisters feels almost as roomy as our house. We spent a day and night in the mountains overlooking town. It was a great retreat. We also got to field test the rest of our great new camping gear.

I've put my baked goods delivery business on hold (probably permanently) as we investigate some other ways to be a blessing to the people here and to be legitamite with the immigration office. We're hoping to come alongside the local government in some of their medical projects; but we'll keep you posted.
We've spent a good deal of time since being back studying Christ's commands and teachings. We're trying to fall in line with His way of making disciples. We've begun challenging our friends and some new acquaintances with the invitation to draw closer to God by learning Christ's commands and obeying them with us. Many of our friends have responded well so far to such invitations.

Happy belated birthday, Nick! Glad to hear you guys were able to use your camping gear. How'd the shower and shovel work out for you? ;)

I received THE ORGANIC CHURCH in the mail the other day. Thanks so much! I'm looking forward to giving it a read this summer.

Thanks for the update. Hope all is well.

Shalom,
David

I was so excited to get your email because I have been thinking and praying for you both wondering how things are going. This is such an exciting time as you begin your life together and all the special memories that you are making together, especially in your first home! Size doesn't matter it is God's presence that makes it a home and there is ALWAYS room to entertain! Take care I am praying for you EVERYTIME God brings you to my mind!

Sarah - I would love to see pictures of your new home if you get a chance to post those either here or on facebook. Love, Andrea G.
